This project was a joint effort between Viking Airport Equipment and SACO Airport Equipment. Viking was responsible for the complete installation of the cargo-handling infrastructure, including the castor decks and barriers. SACO supplied two BUBDs (Build-Up/Break-Down Stations) and one Truck Dock, ensuring a seamless and integrated handling system that supports FedEx’s operational goals.
With this expansion, FedEx gains significant additional capacity, enabling faster throughput and more efficient preparation of freight shipments. For businesses in the East Midlands region, the facility means improved access to the US, APAC, EU and beyond — helping them capitalise on growth opportunities in a fast-moving global trade environment.
Viking Airport Equipment and SACO Airport Equipment are proud to have delivered this flagship project together, reinforcing our shared reputation for safe, reliable and efficient ground-handling systems for some of the world’s largest logistics players.
