Viking enters ‘Product of the Year’ category at Ground Handling Awards 2025

The Ground Handling Awards are part of the 26th Annual GHI Conference, taking place at the RAI in Amsterdam. The winners will be revealed on Monday 10th November 2025, at the end of the conference day. The awards (#POGHAwards) celebrate excellence and innovation in the global ground handling industry, honouring products and initiatives that raise the bar in safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

As part of the entry, Ross Parnell, Head of Fleet UK at dnata, was named as a reference, underlining the strong industry recognition for the CD-428 and its impact on ground handling operations. The CD-428 container dolly had already been part of Viking’s product portfolio, but in 2023 it was further enhanced in close cooperation with dnata. Based on their operational input, important improvements were made in safety, ergonomics, and durability. Since then, more than 240 units have been produced and delivered to dnata, with roll-outs continuing through 2023, 2024, and 2025.

Key innovations include:

• Enhanced safety features, including the Red Zone safety concept, the Anti-Walk Through hoop, and raised safety signage plates to reduce finger crush risks.
• Lightweight and ergonomic design, featuring a one-piece welded chassis made from high-grade tensile steel, easy manoeuvrability and 180° steering capability.
• Single-person operation, enabling seamless loading and unloading with reduced manpower.
• Durability and lifecycle value, ensuring long service life and lower total cost of ownership.
